It is as easy to use as you want it to be or as involved as you want it to be, you can snap away all day in a fully automatic mode or have it on fully manual and set it up the way you want or anywhere inbetween. This does not have the metal body of its main competitor the Canon G12 but its polycarbonate body is at least as strong and will not scratch or show any dinks like the Canon would. One of the great features of this is the fact that it has an optical viewfinder so that in very bright conditions you can still take that shot accurately (please bare in mind that it only shows 80% of the image and please be aware of parralax error on close subjects) For some people there have been a few issues with the firmware on this camera, 1.0 is supposed to have a few glitches, I have not found this to be a problem for me although it is quite easy to download the latest version (1.1) from Nikons website, although my computer does not recognise the file type.My main reason for buying this camera was after coming off holiday I had become thoroughly sick of dragging my expensive and heavy DSLR around cramped castle corridors and heaving shops and fretting that I was gonna damage my camera and lens and of course I was humping my lowepro bag too. I also purchased with my nikon the NIKON - CS P 06 and can thoroughly recommend it. Holidays are gonna be so much ...
